Unit: Interactive Whiteboard for Teaching and Learning

Overview

This level 2 unit is aimed at teachers and lecturers who use or intend to use SMART Boards or Promethean Boards in their classroom teaching. The unit consists of five sessions delivered over five weeks entirely online. Each week covers a different aspect of using the technology effectively for teaching and learning and a range of resources are provided for reference and good practice examples identified. There are no exams in this unit.

This module explores how your ipad can be used as a teaching tool in education. It is aimed at teachers who are relatively new to their ipad, and the course will demonstrate how such technology can be used to engage with modern learners who already use the same or similar devices in their social lives. There are 5 learning sessions and a series of practical exercises for you to complete as you work through the module. The focus is on Apps that will equip you with the knowledge and skills to develop interactive learning resources/activities for use with your students, both inside and outside of the classroom. As an introduction, the video below explains how the device works and its external features.

Overview

This level 3 unit is aimed at teachers and lecturers who use wish to discover how Facebook could be used to enhance their teaching and learning activities. As well as the do's and don't of social networking this unit will explain how the tools with Facebook can encourage student participation and increase interaction.
